After 10 Years, Showboat Branson Belle Still Makes A Splash

Monday, February 25th, 2008

In 1993, Silver Dollar City, one of Branson’s major theme parks, set out to create a unique lake attraction, based on the majestic showboats of the 1800s - the showboats that brought culture and entertainment to towns all along the rivers of America. Fine Branson dining was, of course, part of the plan.

The Showboat Branson Belle was constructed right here at White River Landing, and on August 12, 1994, it was launched into the waters of Table Rock Lake - right below Chateau on the Lake.

Today, at 278 feet in length, 78 feet in width, 112 feet, 3 inches in height, and 2.5 million pounds in weight, this floating Branson Restaurant is the largest American boat ever built on a land-locked lake. And the sight of her majestically plying the waters of Table Rock Lake, at an average speed of six miles per hour, carrying up to 700 passengers past some of the most beautiful scenery in the world, is truly something to behold.

As the name says, Showboat Branson Belle is a showboat, and guests can expect to enjoy a spectacular show in the dining theater. It’s been called “one of the most fast paced, exciting, and entertaining shows in Branson…a first-class experience.” And the dinner show includes a three-course gourmet meal prepared onboard in the showboat’s galley.Branson dining at its best. In fact, all of the meals served on the Showboat Branson Belle - up to 3,000 daily - are prepared in her own on-board galley and are served by one of the most attentive and caring wait staffs in Branson.

Make your visit to our Branson Hotel complete with a dinner cruise on the showboat Branson belle. You don’t want to miss our award-winning Missouri restaurant Chateau Grille, overlooking Table Rock Lake, but for a different perspective on Branson dining, the showboat Branson belle on table rock lake is highly recommended.

Silver Dollar City Presents the Giant Swing, Spring 2007

Monday, February 25th, 2008

Silver Dollar City® - considered one of the top theme parks in the world – has an exciting surprise set to be revealed this spring! Opening for Spring Breakers in 2007, Silver Dollar City® presents a brand new seven-story swing, featuring roller coaster speed and high-flying thrills!

Silver Dollar City® is an 1880’s theme park that takes visitors on an exciting journey back in time, and the park has an amazing new development in 2007 sure to delight visitors to our Branson hotel. To create it’s newest electrifying ride, Silver Dollar City® combined the old-fashioned fun of a barn swing with high-tech, modern power. Enlarge this to massive proportions, and you have the Giant Swing!

A $6 million project, the ride will launch theme park visitors more than seven stories in the air – and nearly upside down – at roller-coaster speeds. This spring, guests to our Branson hotel can experience what Silver Dollar City® calls “barn-bursting, high-flying, super-soaring, big-air thrills!”

Located within a huge hay barn in the new “Great Barn” region of the park, the Giant Swing’s two massive arms hold back-to-back seat rows, allowing riders to soar backward as well as forward. Compressed air power propels the swings, shooting riders 75 feet high in opposite directions and through the barn roof before sending them back toward the ground.

Flying past each other up to 45 miles per hour, the swings then soar 75 feet into the sky, high above the trees, arcing a full 230 degrees so riders nearly hang upside down. The ride’s incredible acceleration offers “back-to-back G-force kicks” and feelings of weightlessness for a “full throttle, high-flying thrill ride.” Families who visit our Branson hotel are sure to be impressed!

In the spring of 2006, Silver Dollar City® presented the Grand Exposition – an $8 million, two-acre expansion with ten new family rides that soared. Those who stayed at our Branson hotel and visited the park were blown away by the addition. Imagine the fun your family will have at our Branson hotel this year surrounded by such spectacular attractions!
